MEET LIZA MOISSEEVA
FOUNDER OF GLOBEIN
“I am a huge believer that businesses can and should be the biggest force for social good and have the highest potential to solve social problems that plague our society—poverty, water crises, lack of access to education and so on,” Liza says. She started GlobeIn to tackle some of these issues head on.
SHOPPING ETHICALLY IS MY
PERSONAL PRIORITY NO MATTER
WHAT I AM BUYING.

Liza believes that the easiest and biggest step toward creating positive change is to talk about it. She suggests people start by changing their own shopping behavior, and then encouraging others to do so, too.
“There’s no need to guilt anyone for buying fast fashion,” she says. “Rather, proudly wear and share your ethical pieces with your community. Beautiful, high-quality (and ethical!) pieces will speak for themselves and will serve as a great conversation starter.”
ON DIAMOND NEXUS
The movie ‘Blood Diamond’ impacted Liza by bringing the ethical issues inherent in diamond mining to the forefront of the cultural conversation. ‘Since then, she knew that if she were to buy a diamond ring or piece of jewelry, she would make absolutely sure it was ethically made.
“Diamond Nexus makes beautiful diamond [alternatives] that are completely guilt free and also friendly on your wallet,” she says. “I love it when brands make an effort to offer ethically-made products at reasonable prices. This will enable ethical consumption to become mainstream in shorter time.”
HER JEWELRY STYLE
“My jewelry style is definitely minimalistic,” Liza says. She typically sports earrings or a simple pendant. “You’ll almost never find me in a diamond shop!”
After browsing Diamond Nexus pieces, she settled on a simple stack of bands. “I was surprised to find myself admiring and proudly wearing an enchanting set of rose gold rings—the Miami and the Manhattan.”
Liza’s main advice? “Don’t give up and stick to your passion! If doing good is truly your priority, you will be ok with sacrifices that come with this career path.”
