The crown that illuminates Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete was selected by the votes of thousands of people across the globe via Diamond Nexus Labs' "Choose The Crown" website. Of the three potential crown designs - Hope, Peace, and Unity - Peace was the ultimate winner. This crown, arrayed with over a thousand diamond simulants, is accented by a series of gorgeous, deep red lab-created rubies to represent Miss Universe's tireless campaign to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and education. The crown's repeating oval pattern was inspired by the crowns of modern monarchs to reflect the regality and grace of this exquisite woman. As the first eco-friendly jeweler in history to partner with the Miss Universe Organization, Diamond Nexus Labs is thrilled and honored to have created this masterpiece.

Fun fact: when the crown was first made in 2009 and was worn by Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez, it contained 544.31 grams of 14k and 18k white gold and platinum. However, the crown was so heavy that it gave Stefania headaches, so the top row of arches was removed to make it lighter. The result is the crown that everyone knows and loves today!

The official Diamond Nexus Labs crown features a stunning total weight of 166.82 carats, set in 325 grams of gold and platinum. Fifty-one of our shimmering diamond simulants adorn the magnificent oval centerpiece to celebrate each of the fifty-one women competing to become Miss USA 2011.
