Our commitment to the environment
The green movement is underway! But in the jewelry industry, this is easier said than done. The devastating effect of diamond and gold mining on the environment is well documented. In many underdeveloped parts of the world, mining corporations exploit weak governments and lax environmental laws to strip mine and chemically extract diamonds and gold from the earth. These destructive processes often leave behind a poisoned, dead landscape, not to mention the exploitation of workers who are often unfairly treated.
Our thought is...
We do not believe that beauty has to come at this dear a price. Instead, we offer this as a way of doing business. Our Diamond Nexus simulants and synthetic stones are created in clean laboratories using environmentally friendly processes. No harsh, environmentally dangerous chemicals are used. Excess materials from production are melted down and reused.
In all cases possible, we use recycled gold. We obtain additionally needed gold from Canadian sources, which are the most well-regulated and environmentally safe sources available. The paper used in our catalog is recycled, FSC certified and Rainforest Alliance certified. Our inks are soy based. We at Diamond Nexus strive to produce heirloom quality jewelry for you to pass on to future generations, and to make sure that a healthy, clean environment is passed on as well.
